The responses from the Mount Vernon Cancer Centre (MVCC) public consultation are currently being analysed. However, NHS East of England do know that travel and access were the most frequently raised issues. As a result, further work is being undertaken to explore these challenges in more depth and to identify what could be done to improve access to specialist cancer treatment, both now and in the future.
The NHS lung cancer screening service is now inviting residents of Bedford borough who meet the criteria for the screening programme (those aged 55-74 years with a smoking history) to participate in the programme.
