Healthwatch Bedford Borough launches Annual Report 2025/26

Today, we are proud to launch our Annual Report for 2025/26, highlighting the impact of local people’s voices in shaping health and social care services across Bedford Borough.

Our report reflects a year of listening to residents, gathering feedback on the services they use, and ensuring their experiences are heard by those making decisions about care. From access to GP appointments and NHS dentistry to hospital services, mental health support and social care, the report captures the issues that matter most to people in our community.

This year’s report is published at a particularly important time. The Government has announced its intention to abolish Healthwatch England and Local Healthwatch organisations as part of wider reforms to the health and care system.

These proposed changes make our role and the role of independent patient voice more important than ever.

As services face increasing demand and continued pressures, it is vital that local people have a strong, independent voice to share their experiences, raise concerns and help shape the future of care.

Our Annual Report demonstrates the difference that listening makes. Every conversation, survey response and shared experience helps us build a clearer picture of what is working well and where improvements are needed.

We remain committed to making sure the voices of people in Bedford Borough continue to be heard, valued and acted upon.

We invite residents, partners and stakeholders to read our Annual Report 2025/26 and join us in championing better health and social care for everyone in Bedford Borough.
