If you are caring for somebody, you might want to consider using PPE to protect yourself and the person you care for. Bedford Borough Council is providing free PPE (personal protective equipment) to unpaid carers.

Bedford Borough Council is providing free PPE (personal protective equipment) to unpaid carers. 

If you are an unpaid carer living in Bedford Borough, or providing personal care to someone outside the Borough, and need PPE they can provide you with:

  • protective gloves
  • disposable face masks
  • aprons
  • face shield

A carer is someone, including adults and children, who looks after a family member, partner or friend who needs help because of their illness, frailty, disability, a mental health problem or an addiction and cannot cope without their support. The care they give is unpaid. 

If you are caring for somebody (particularly if they are not in your household), you might want to consider using PPE to protect yourself and the person you are caring for.
