Holocaust Memorial Events and Activities in Bedford

12/01/2018

Holocaust Memorial Day is a national event that takes place on 27th January every year and in 2018, the theme is ‘The Power of Words’.

Holocaust Memorial Day 27th January is the day for everyone to remember the six million Jews murdered in the Holocaust, and the millions of people killed in Nazi Persecution and in subsequent genocides in Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia, and Darfur. 27 January marks the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau, the largest Nazi death camp.

This year the Holocaust Memorial events in Bedford include an exhibition, a series of workshops for schools run by the Anne Frank Trust, film and theatre events at The Place Theatre, a Civic Commemoration and a commemoration at the Anne Frank Tree in Russell Park.

The events will run from the 23rd January - 18th February 2018.
